Comfort Dental Presents Special Olympics with Donation
ENGLEWOOD , Colo. – Comfort Dental recently presented Special Olympics Colorado with a check in the amount of $61,588 at a special VIP event in conjunction with Brad Paisley’s “h10 World Tour.” The donation was possible through a two-year partnership between the organizations. As part of the partnership, Special Olympics Colorado receives 50 cents for each ticket sold for select shows at the Comfort Dental Amphitheatre, which is owned by the Museum of Outdoor Arts and operated by Live Nation.
The nearly $62,000 total was accumulated throughout Comfort Dental Amphitheatre’s 2010 concert schedule. All revenue will support the more than 10,000 Special Olympics Colorado athletes, who participate in the organization’s year-round training and competition programs -- all at no cost to themselves or their families.
“Comfort Dental is a shining example of the balance between business and community,” President and CEO of Special Olympics Colorado Mindy Watrous said. “Because of their commitment to Special Olympics Colorado athletes through public awareness of our athletes’ tremendous abilities, their volunteerism and their financial support, we are able to create communities of inclusiveness and acceptance for all Colorado citizens. We are so grateful for their tremendous support.”
Special Olympics Colorado is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization supported entirely by private donations from individuals, corporations, and organizations throughout the state. The program does not receive any financial assistance from the government or Kennedy Foundation. Special Olympics Colorado athletes do not pay a fee to participate.
"On behalf of Comfort Dental, I'd like to say how proud we are of our association with Special Olympics,” said Dr. Neil Norton, Vice President of Comfort Dental. “We are thrilled to be able to partner with such a vital and important organization and are equally thrilled to support them financially, especially in these troubled economic times. Of course, none of this would be possible without the generous support of our doctors, staff and, of course, our wonderful patients throughout Colorado . We are grateful to Special Olympics for allowing us to be a part of the tremendous work it does."
